Apple announces Final Cut Pro X | Engadget

Was ich bis jetzt gesehen habe macht wirklich Lust auf mehr. Optisch lehnt es sich stark an iMovie an und erinnert auch etwas an Aperture. Für mich kein schlechter Start bin ich doch bekennender iMovie Fan und teste gerade Aperture.

Mit Final Cut Express konnte ich mich nie richtig anfreunden, daher freue ich mich auf das neue X. Und so wie es aussieht bietet es wirklich einiges für das Geld. Da dürften einige “Semi-Pros”, welche bisher mit iMovie oder FCE gearbeitet haben, sehr schnell umsteigen.

sparrowmail: Sparrow 1.1.2 is still in review at Apple. We submitted the update on April the 4th. Since, Sparrow 1.1.2 has been rejected twice. On the 15th of April, we requested an appeal on iTunes Connect and are now waiting for Apple’s answer. The application was rejected because Apple reviewers couldn’t add the test accounts we provided. After testing on our side, we were not able to reproduce the issue and came to the conclusion that Sparrow was being tested offline or behind a firewall (which could explain why Sparrow was unable to connect to any mail account). We kindly asked several times for log protocol to pinpoint the exact reason and make a consistent answer to the review team but had no luck. We had no other choice than to ask for an Appeal.   Sparrow 1.1.2 fixes the following issues: Duplication in Sent mailbox on Exchange servers Selection in folder mapping  Crash on sync Keychain conflict  “New message” option has been added to right-click on Dock icon  We’ve been working hard on Sparrow 1.2 for some weeks now. Most of what we’re doing has to be kept secret but the Universal Inbox will be there along with lots of improvements and cool new features. Thanks for your patience and feedback.

Chill Pill: The Cocoa Touch to Cure Your RSS Fever

Ich nutze Fever, allerdings nicht so wie ich ursprünglich gedacht hätte… Da ändern auch die iPhone Web-App und der native iPad Client leider nichts. So richtig warm bin ich damit leider nicht geworden…

Chill Pill gibt es ja schon länger und ist nun auch im MacAppStore verfügbar. Klar, kann man auch selbst machen… allerdings ist es wirklich nicht teuer und ist doch etwas komfortabler.

Wer fever nutzt sollte es sich einmal anschauen.

Spotify Premium - i'm back Freunde

Wer meinem Blog schon länger folgt oder meinem twitterfeed der weis das ich ein sehr großer Freund von Musikabodiensten bin.

Egal welche, ich habe sie schon alle ausprobiert. Doch keiner hat mich auch nur annähernd so begeistert wie Spotify.

Angefangen bei der wirklich sehr gelungen Desktop-App bis zur überzeugenden iPhone-App… Hier lohnt sich das Premium-Abo wirklich. Da kann kein andere Anbieter ähnlich gutes bieten.

Der Dienst ist zwar in unseren Breitengraden leider nicht offiziell verfügbar, mit ein wenig Aufwand ist man allerdings schnell registriert und kann sich selbst ein Bild von Spotify machen. Und ich sage euch: wer Musikabodiensten positiv gegenübersteht hat hier “seinen” Dienst gefunden.

Also probiert eine der zahlreichen Anleitungen aus und schaut euch Spotify an - ich bin (wieder einmal) begeistert.

On the road - und nur das iPad 3G dabei

War ich früher durchaus der Meinung das man auf Reisen auch mal nur mit dem iPad gut zurecht kommt hat sich dies anscheinend irgendwo in den letzten Wochen für mich geändert.

Und ich habe es wirklich versucht. Echt. Mit der Bluetooth Tastatur und diversen Schreibprogrammen im Gepäck habe ich unterwegs an Blog-Beiträgen, Artikeln und Kommentaren gearbeitet. Diese per Email verschickt und/oder in den Frontends von Wordpress und tumblr eingefügt und bearbeitet. Alles oft doch sehr krampfhaft und nicht wirklich flüssig. Ein schnelles schalten zwischen Recherche und Schreiben ist einfach nicht möglich.

In den letzten Wochen bin ich daher zu dem Schluss gekommen das dies nicht meine Lösung ist. Auch wenn es sich hier nur um ein Hobby handelt und ich damit nicht meinen Lebensunterhalt verdiene muss es doch passen. Und ich arbeite mit einem MacBook Pro und OSX eben doch besser und schneller als mit einem iPad und iOS.

Vielleicht wird sich das mit iOS 5 ändern, aber bis dahin werde ich in Zukunft wieder mein MacBook Pro dabei haben - und das iPad, das ist nämlich unschlagbar was Emails, RSS und twittern auf der Couch betrifft.
